Faculty
MIT Sloan’s faculty members are inventing the future of management. They are leading economists, public policy experts, entrepreneurs, and executives of companies large and small.
In collaboration with private sector leaders, practitioners, and MIT Sloan students, faculty conduct research on topics such as the economic disruption of climate change, the benefits and hazards of human-AI interaction, the future of entrepreneurship, and much more.
The accomplishments of MIT Sloan’s faculty are significant. For example:
- Daron Acemoglu and Simon Johnson won the 2024 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for work on institutions and prosperity; their research on AI, labor, and automation point the way to a future of shared well-being.
- Tavneet Suri leads trailblazing research into economic activity in the poorest parts of Africa.
- John Sterman developed a climate simulator used by policymakers to examine the impact of greenhouse gas emissions.
- Andrew Lo’s current research explores the ways in which artificial intelligence can be implemented in the financial landscape to provide financial advice and help people plan for retirement.
And so much more.
