Translating climate science into policy insights.

The MIT Climate Policy Center plays a key role in MIT's Climate Project–an institute-wide initiative aimed at turning MIT into one of the world’s most prolific and collaborative sources of technological, behavioral, and policy solutions for climate challenge.

The MIT Climate Policy Center’s mission is to serve as a trusted nonpartisan resource for policymakers working to advance evidence-based climate policy.

Housed at the MIT Sloan School of Management, we work across MIT’s schools, departments, centers, and initiatives to bring climate research, tools, and analysis to policymakers. As part of the Climate Project at MIT, we're helping advance President Kornbluth’s Institute-wide initiative to develop, deliver, and scale practical climate solutions within the next decade.

Our Vision

  • Act as MIT’s front door for climate policy.

Coordinate and strengthen MIT’s many climate-policy efforts so policymakers can more easily access relevant expertise.

  • Amplify climate-policy research and outreach.

Elevate the work of MIT faculty, departments, centers, and initiatives engaged in climate-policy research across the institute.

  • Build a two-way street with policymakers.

Deepen relationships with policymakers to understand their needs and connect timely questions with MIT analysis.

Sally Kornbluth | MIT President
