Who should apply to the MIT Executive MBA?

The MIT Executive MBA (EMBA) is an MBA program for mid-career professionals with 10+ years of experience who are ready to grow as leaders and drive greater impact. 

The MIT EMBA Admissions Committee looks for candidates who demonstrate leadership, professional achievement, and the ability to succeed in a rigorous, analytics-based curriculum. 

Strong MIT EMBA candidates:

• Have 10+ years of relevant, post-undergraduate work experience 
• Are fully employed and advancing in their careers
• Lead teams, departments, or organizational ventures in a mature company or startup
• Bring a global perspective, functional expertise, and a track record of innovation 
• Demonstrate the academic readiness to succeed in a rigorous MBA program 
• Communicate clearly and effectively in English—both verbally and in writing 
• Hold an undergraduate degree (or have exceptional professional achievements in lieu of a degree) 
• Have completed, or plan to complete, coursework in calculus and statistics with a grade of B or better (these courses may be taken concurrently with your application)

*Note: GMAT and Executive Assessment exams are not required, but may be submitted

*Recommended deadline for international applicants to allow time to finalize US student-visa.
**Late submissions will be accepted until June 1, 2026, and are considered as space permits.
